The closest port to Les Alizés campsite is Saint Gilles Croix de Vie. It takes about 20 minutes to.

**Tip:** To avoid paying for parking all day, you can also take the bus route connecting Saint Hilaire de Riez to Saint Gilles Croix de Vie. A ticket costs €2.10 and buses run regularly during peak season.

By bicycle…
To visit the island of Yeu, there's nothing better than **cycling**. The size of the island is particularly well-suited to this activity. This mode of transport allows you to get around easily while enjoying the fresh air and the scenery.
At the port of Joinville, you'll be spoilt for choice when it comes to hiring bicycles. Head to «La Roue Libre». Mountain bikes, hybrid bikes, electric bikes – choose the type that suits you and set off for a magnificent ride. Cliffs, rocks, beige sands… you'll see a variety of landscapes, each more beautiful than the last, pass before your eyes.
The island circuit is 38 kilometres long, the fittest will be able to set off to conquer the island's lands. For the others, here is an alternative:

This loop will allow you to discover the most beautiful spots on the island. ;
From the old castle to the Port de la Meule, you will walk along cliffs carved by the Atlantic waves. Continue your route to L'Anse des Soux, a small wild beach. A swim in its turquoise waters is a must. After this break in a heavenly setting and under a radiant sun, return to Port Joinville. On the way, you will pass through pretty typical villages of the island. On either side of the street, houses with blue shutters will follow one another.

Back in this small town on the island of Yeu, you can take the time to wander through its narrow streets. Sometimes lined with little houses with blue shutters, in some streets you can find small local artisan shops. Now is the time to bring back a souvenir of your getaway to this island.
To finish your day on an excellent note, and because after these kilometres of cycling you're feeling hungry, take a break. A few metres from the port, discover the restaurant «Les Hautes Mers». It's in a sumptuous setting, with the most beautiful view on the island, that the teams will serve you homemade dishes.
You'll be returning to Camping les Alizés with a head full of memories and unforgettable images.
